Started only about a year ago, the Portland Oregon Women Riders now boast 120 members, made up of lesbian, bisexual, straight, and transgendered women of all ages and abilities. The group’s main goal is to empower women motorcycle riders in the Portland area and offer them an accepting atmosphere where they can gain friendships, learn new skills, and enjoy themselves while riding motorcycles.

Sounds awesome, right? It should, and you can find out just what the deal is this Sunday, November 15th, when the group hosts a social from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Love’s Leathers (1912 NE 179th St., Ridgefield, WA). The location is easy to get to from Portland – just ride up I-5 to the 179th St. exit (where the fairgrounds are), turn right and go about a half-mile. There are big signs on the left.

Sunday is poised to be unbelievably cold (thanks a million, Tim Joyce!), so dress accordingly!
