“A Bluesy Christmas Concert” and silent auction on December 10th at the E Room is poised to turn your holiday event planning routine into a raucous, music-imbued extravaganza.
The new non-profit, Music for Kids, focuses on bringing music education back to a prominent role in schools. The impending concert will be the organization’s very first fundraiser since being granted non-profit status in October.
But what will I find at this gala, you ask?
PSSSSHH.
The evening will feature the comedic talents of Jennifer Lanier acting as MC, the LaRhonda Steele Band, and guest performances by Music for Kids founder and Executive director Sue Lewis, and Kelli Raglione. Additionally, the silent auction will, according to Lewis, “be going on during the event so people can enjoy a great concert and do some Christmas shopping. The Portland Metro business community is generously supporting our auction by donating gift cards from the Olive Garden, CDs from LaRhonda and Ellen Whyte, massages by a licensed masseuse, natural skin care products, catering, stained glass art work and more. “Donating is a great way to advertise your products and services and is very good PR since people feel good about buying from a business that gives back to the community. To find out how to donate, call 503-268-2404.”
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. 21 and over. Doors are at 6:00 p.m., curtain at 7:00 p.m.
