Maddow Calls Rev. Warren Out to Denounce Anti-Gay Uganda Bill On the Air

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has officially invited Reverend Rick Warren on to her show to publicly denounce the proposed “Kill the Gays” bill currently facing Uganda’s parliament.

Maddow has set a heated tone to the unearthing of connections between U.S. Christian evangelists and the drafting of the anti-gay bill, which as of Thursday dropped the consequences of the death penalty and life imprisonment for “homosexual acts.” Recently, she completely annihilated faux ex-gay therapist and author Richard Cohen, to the delight of pretty much everyone on earth.

But Warren, despite stating recently that he could not interfere with another nation’s politics, made a denouncement yesterday against the bill, calling it “un-Christian.” Warren is the author of The Purpose Driven Life and leader of vast social action networks in Africa under his PEACE plan.

Thursday night, Maddow invited Warren on her show, specifically to denounce the legislation. Most U.S. evangelists had made little to no response regarding the Ugandan legislation before Maddow blasted individual Christian leaders by name.

Rachel Maddow might as well receive the designation for today’s Hit ‘Em Where It Hurts Award. She’s almost single-handedly bringing the atrocities of this bill in Uganda to the American public. And she’s becoming bigger than Olbermann. Yes, I said it.
