Ladies (and gentlemen) – scrub out your pie tins.

If ever there were a DIY event crying out to PDX queer homemakers, it’s this: the first (annual?) Portland Pie-Off. Yes, a few enterprising peeps (including bloggerista Lelo in NoPo herself) are bellying up for our fair city’s first ever baking contest dedicated to the fine art of the pie.

You can show up to Washington Park, 3 pm onward (near the children’s playground) this Saturday, August 30th and either…

1) bring a pie or pies to enter into the contest’s eight categories (there are judges, including this cantankerous blogger, handing out handsome ribbons to the bigshot winners), or

2) bring an empty belly and fill up on pie.

I’m going for option the second, but am relying on at least some of you to go with option the first… PIE: Bring it!!!
