Thursday is normally no laughing matter. It’s one day after you’ve supposedly hit the hump, and upon your confrontation of it, emerges as the dangling carrot toward the gateways of a weekend bursting with hundreds of other unknown veggies.
But this Thursday, meaning today, but more specifically tonight, is an exception to the rule. I’ve made it so. But I’m not alone. There are a gaggle of giggle-worthy comedians who are right there with me, and they’re all gonna be at the E Room tonight for Laugh Riot.
Hosted by tomorrow’s Just Out comedy profile wunderkind Whitney Streed, Laugh Riot will include the hilarious headliner Virginia Jones, the uncomfortable honesty of Cody Smith, Just Out’s own jokester, and “fabulous queer femme who missed her calling as Rupaul,” Belinda Carroll, along with Portland talents Jimmy Newstetter and newcomer Marcia Belsky.
The funny starts at 9:00 p.m., with the doors opening at 8. $5 cover charge.
Take back your Thursday. And go to The PDX Comedy Blog whenever possible.
