Last week the queer blogosphere was abuzz with one clear message: Nancy Pelosi, move the Employment Non-discrimination Act forward. While a minor victory has been achieved with Rep. Barney Frank saying that the act will go for a markup the first week that Congress is back after the Easter break, there is skepticism about whether this will actually come to pass.
That’s why gay rights activist Cleve Jones has written an open letter to the House Speaker, reminding her that “many Americans in the LGBT community — especially young people — are increasingly frustrated and cynical about the pace of progress in Washington” and urging her to take action. Jones has also teamed up with GetEqual and the Courage Campaign to start a petition drive to let House Speaker Pelosi to let her know that the people want ENDA, to be delivered some time in early April.
Sign the petition to let Pelsoi know that the time for ENDA is now.
